I realized today that my dumb ass made the mistake of forgetting to buy filter media for my Undergravel filter. So when this terrifying realization had come over me, I was frantic. So I went to his previous dwelling, got a cup, and started transferring old water to new,and new water to old. Was I drastic or did my actions save my betta?

Are you talking about the beneficial bacteria that would have been in the old tank? If so, most of it is found on plants, rocks and (of course) any filter that was previously in the tank. Transferring water probably wouldn't make much of a difference.
If you're worried about it, you could use some old gravel in the new tank, or even float the old filter (if you have one) in the new tank.

I also transferred two of his favorite artificial plants into his new home.I really didn't think of the filter media.Oh wait, I kinda put it in the new tank and swirred it around a bit. Is that ok?

I'd let it float in there for a couple of days just to make sure it's getting transfered. The last thing you want is to have to cycle the tank all over again.
Although if your Nitrates are reading at a good level, I suppose you wouldn't have to worry too much about it.

Chances are if the plants you put in the aquarium are from the other one and didn't stay out of the water long the good bacteria is still on them. Your aquarium may go through a mini cycle.

Those plants never left the water. I left them in while I added fresh water to the tank, I even used an old LFS bag from when I bought my corys to trasfer them, so they've never left the water...ever! :shifty:
