Will He Explode?

Offer to clean the tanks and mop the floor or something at lunch time. Put the fish down. Spill strong cleaner on the floor to mask the smell of cloves on the off chance that your teacher knows what eugenol is. Take out the body and say that it died of natural causes. It's just suffering. There's no point keeping him alive.

This could have been a twisted intestine. Food etc. builds up on one side because it can't get past the torsion meaning the fish can't poo and often won't eat, and gas builds up in the bubble that's trapped, eventually causing a blowout. It can be fixed in humans, dogs, cats etc but it requires surgery, totally impractical with a pet as small as a fish. Caught this late it would probably have the same outcome as the poor fish. Sorry to hear that he's going to die :(

I am not going to lie to him. My teacher said that he will feed the guy to his Tilapia. Im afriad that they would get the same bacterial infection he has. Is it possible? The guiy was alive this morning. But he couldnt really swim or anything. This is the first time he has denied food or anything. I feel so bad for him.

I wouldn't advise feeding any fish with desease to a living animal.
Bless him, I would also tell the teacher that he's not setting a good example to his pupils by not looking after the fish properly and there suffering.
It amazes be when the person is bright but has no common sense.

If I lived near you I'd try to repair it. I have repaired an intestinal rupture in a frog once and it survived, very good long term result. I'm no expert, I usually send them to the frog hospital, but that was an emergency, the frog would have bled to death.

Well i doub tsomeone would take a fish to the vet! It is like a 3 dollar fish. He was still alive today. But he could barely move. I told me teacher, seriously, you need to kill the fish. And dont feed it to the Tilpaia, and he said okay.

He was dead this morning. He died over the weekend. He did explode. All that was left was some white tissue, as that's all we found. there was no closed stomach, just a gaping hole. Poor thing, at least he's out of his misery.

Poor thing bless him.
When fish really bloat up the organs can burst breaking through there stomach is awful.
R.I.P.

I've felt like you at times so no how you feel, it makes you feel guilty at times.
But you did everything possible so don't blame yourself.

Im not trying to blame myself. The thing that tick's me off is the teacher hsnt taken the body out! He knew it died since this morning but hasnt botherd to get it out. He dosent have a net though. Put there are other ways to get it out. But under NO circumstances am i going to stick my hand in that NAST, FILTHY water to pick up a BACTERIA LADEN EXPLODED DEAD FISH! sorry, im just not going ot do it and catch some nasty disease. That is his problem.

He wants reporting to the head teacher to ban him from keeping fish as he not setting a good example to the pupils
People like him make me sick.
The fish needs to be taken out of the tank.

I am not ging to report him as the head of the school wont give a damn if the fish is dead and in the tank or not. Also, i like him as a teacher, but his fish keeping skills seem to be lacking. Do you remeber my yellow lab thread from agust to early december? That is the same teacher. He still has several baby convicts and the mother in the tank. He is borrowing a filter from me that only filters 5 gallons, which is hard to beilve as it's a small strong in-tank filter, adn his tank is a 20g. I am going to need it back soon, so i hope he gets AquaClear or something. He has a Bio-Wheel in the other tank.

I would give him this forum address so he is able to see where he's going wrong.

I will! Great suggestion Wilder! I will tell him to PM me as soon as he gets a name, so then i'll know if he got one. And then i'll be able to read his posts.

Also, what will happen if he says he was refferd by me?
