so i have two dragon gobies and both with some sort of fin damage that has not seemed to grow back in the past 3-5 months. one was nipped by the puffer introduction incedent and the other im not sure how he got his scales clipped but both have not seemed to grow back.

There is some damage to the thicker mast like portions of the fin that are placed periodiclly alon the dorsal and ventral sides of the fish, the little spines that are interconnected by the thinner more wavy sail like fins. Will these grow back or just like the base of the caudel fin, once its damage it will not repair.

Provided the base of the fin is intact, and the only parts lost are the membrane and the smaller, thread-like bones, then fins should regenerate. That of course assumes the fins aren't further damaged and water quality remains good. But if the larger bones at the base of the fins are gone, then fins may be lost forever.

Cheers, Neale
