Hello!!

Just thought I would say that I should be picking up a male and female Blue ram this sunday!

They apparently came all the way from the far east over a week and a half ago...the owner of the shop was going to start to sell them last wednesday (1 week quarantine) but decided that he would keep them for another few days.

I hope it is not because some of them are ill from the travelling....

They are the biggest i have seen in LPS mear me. Just hope they dont peg out on me.

i would be gutted.

glad to hear the lfs wishes to hold onto the fish longer than he needs. Most stores would want to ship them out that day... if the fish gets sick what do they care, all they would have to do is give you store credit... but they still have your money.

Hope they fit in well with the rest of your kids :good:

They should do..I have danios, neon tetras and cories and some Amaro shrimp. I really would like some other types of shrimp to go in the tank but they are not half expensive to buy near me! (£3 each!) and I am not sure other types will get on with my Rams..

Anyone have any ideas??

I cant wait, Im gonna phone them up on sunday to see if everything is still okay for collection.

I picked my two rams this morning....seem to be settling in okay....still abit spooked. The bloke who owns the shop was not 100% i would be able to get one of each as he said that they are bred to look similar and that you can only really tell by the depth of the body...so he guessed. If i have two boys one will be going back.

Here are some piccs.....see what you think.

As you can imagine they are still abit camera shy.

Heres what I think of as the "male"...he was the brightest coloured of the whole tank (just had to have him!)

pretty fish. it looks like you have one of each but then again the pictures are small and hard to tell. But it seems, with coloration you have a male and female

Thanks...You should be able to click on the pictures or the link next to it and they will be blown up to get a closer look but one of them does not work....I hate imageshack, I just cant seem to get it right!

yea i figured that out now, why dont you try photobucket... they have better service

Thank you! Settling in okay so far as far as i can tell.

The female does not seem to have a redish tinge to her belly.
I heard this is a way to ID the females. Is this right??

I have cherries in with my Rams, no problem whatsoever.

Is it okay for the male to be chasing the female?

I assume that he is trying to get the female to look at his pretty colours!! :hey:
And how long before they settle down to bonded life??
