i have a tank set up with 2 amano shrimp and will be getting rcs.
My problem is there is quite a few snails in the tank and would like to get a assassin snail to help keep theh numbers down.
but will they eat the shrimp i would like to breed them to so there will be baby shrimp.

I keep assassins and shrimps together with no problems; the shrimps are just too fast for the assassins, IME.

I have heard a few stories where they have eaten Shrimpletts, but in all honesty as long as the Shrimps are healthy then they would be hard to catch.

Ok if the snail eats a few thats fine.

But as long as not often which they dont seem to it will be ok.

Thanks to everyone who posted

Not to throw spanner in the works, but I think it depends on setup/feeding.

I witnessed one of my assassin snails catching and eating a ghost shrimp in some thick planting (but then again he also ate the other assassin snail too - rather than the baby ramshorns).

However, on moving to a larger tank, he happily hunts ramshorns and shows no interest/no ability to catch anything else.
