I have 4 platy's, 1 male and 3 female they are all in a 30 litre tank but i want to put them in the 60 litre with my guppies will they breed together? Because i don't want more guppies, i'm just trying to breed platys.

Thanks ;)

No they wont. From what I understand they all belong to the Poeciliidae family but mollies and guppies are in the Poecilia genus so don't breed with platies and swordtails who are in the Xiphophorus genus. Someone correct me if I am wrong though.

This is correct.

They may try to breed together, but they will never cross breed.

You bet hey will Horsepaw, but the result will be nothing at all. A guppy and platy cross breed results in absolutely nothing in terms of fry.
