I am moving my fish around, and using my 10 gallon for a my pregnant platy. If I put one of my common plecos in there also, will he eat her fry? I was considering it so that the bio filter still has a little bit of load on it, other than 1 platy.

Hi, I have a 12" Common/Sailfin Pleco in with Mollies and their numerous fry and Cardinal Tetras. The Pleco shows no interest whatsoever in any of the fry or the smaller fish. HTH You might want to wait for a couple more replies just in case someone else has found differently. :)

Hi,

plecs don't intentionally eat fish but i'd be worried about a big one in with fry accidentally hoovering them up when they go to the bottom at night.

Emma :)

I'm not sure about fry but whenever I use white bait to feed my other fish my sailfin pleco will often have a bit of white bait. As I said he may eat your fry, i'm not sure. But he does eat white bait.
