I bought 2 Julli and 2 sterbai corys today. I wanted to buy 4 sterbais but the local fish shop only had 2 left. I called up multiple fish shops but none had any. So i bought 2 julli to go with them. Will this be ok as i know they need to be in groups of 4 or more??

Most cory keepers believe that they like to be kept in groups of their own kind. Also, they wold probably be better in a group bigger than 4...

What if I get 2 more of each after a month or so because that's how long the fish shop will take to get some in?

They will be happier the more of them there are so I would certainly get more when you can. However a few months as a foursome shouldn't do them any harm, you just may not see them as much as you would in a larger group.

Cories can well survive as single fish so you can expect to see that work for you. On the other hand, cories in small numbers are far less than in optimum conditions. I kept cories in tiny numbers in the 1950s and more recently in larger numbers. In my own opinion, I see no reason to ever keep cories in small numbers again. They are just that much more entertaining with their antics when kept in groups of at least 6 and better yet 10 or more. My cories, these days, are among my favorite fish but back in the days when I kept them in 2 or 3 per species I regarded them as little more than a clean up crew. These are delightful little fish who will entertain you for hours if you have enough of a species in a tank. That is simply my own perspective though. Nobody else needs to adopt my own attitude toward cories.
