After doing the treatment on my tanks for whitespot, run a course of protozin , now all was going great, all the females are healthy and active, the babies are all fine so far, all other fish are fine and active... but unfortunatly the male did not recover, although the spots went, he slowly got more ill and less active, he started breathing a little heavier than normal and today i have come home to him passed away :( im not sure why he has died and whether it could of been something else, what you think/suggest?

One parasites invade the gills fish rarely make it.
maybe he was already weakened by the parasite.
Parasites can cause bacterial infections.
Bless him. You did all you could for him.

Bless Him.

Thanks hun...

Things getting worse day by day in the 60L tank, the baby bristlenose are dropping like flies, there is a BN about 1" in there covered in what looks like whitespot (although the babies showing no sign of spots) and ive been treating the tank now for ages, just wont seem to shift.

Using meds for a long time takes it toll on fish.

When you have fry in a tank you are meant only to half dose.
I think I would change meds.

Do any fish now still have whitespot?

Can you not take the effected fish out and put them in their own tank, treat them there. It might help stop others catching anything and could help with recovering the tank, it's self?
