didnt treat again and all was well until tonight when a cory has flicked a few times again.................. :angry: thought it was clear! i did a 30%water change yesterday could it be this somehow as it seems to come back after a decent change....
going to treat with wormer plus and anti internal bacteria med now.

Are you sure its not the larger water change thats making them flick.
Do you match temp to tank.

yeah temp was matched by touch and water was treated with api treatment. i did the change yesterday and they seemed ok then its just tonight they have sarted again...

Ok.
The med might not be doing its job.

Really need a skin scrape done to see what really going off.

The only other med is sterazin by waterlife and I never rated it much.

i have some sterazin, i bought it last time you helped me with the rams just in case....
i have wormer plus mixed and ready to go but do you think i should try sterazin instead?
dont you think its odd how they have started after a water change?

where do i get a skin scrape done?

Some lfs will preform skin scrapes on fish. You would have to phone aroud some lfs.

I would start the sterazin by waterlife now. The wormer plus dosn't sound like its working to me.

Fish can also get internal flukes and that can make them rub.
Do any fish show any of these signs.
Long stringy white poo or clear mucas poo.
Fish will look skinny or bloated.
Enlarged anus, or red inflamed anus.
Sometimes fish will swim in its side.
Sometimes bent spine.
Swimming in a jerky movement.

could i do both together? or would it be too hard on the fish? wormer plus states it can be used alongside other meds......

I wouldn't risk using both meds together without knowing the ingredients.
Rabbut had a bad case of flukes and sterazin worked on his fish. He didn't rate the wormer plus much.
Try pm him to see if he can offer any help.

i never see the corys poo........ but my platys had white/ transparent poo
no enlarged/red anus
no swimming on its side
no bent spine
one cory is slightly smaller/thinner than the rest but has always been since i had him
i wouldnt say any were bloated
swimming about happy as larry sometimes slightly jerky

Try some shelled peas.
Translucent poo can mean the fish is not eating and running on empty.
If the peas don't clear the stringy poo up get back to the board.

I bet you are fed up by now.

i really appreciate your help :good: its very kind of you to use your time on someone you dont know and have never even met.

Not getting fed up. Just need to have a good look at the thread again.
Do some of the symtoms of flukes show on your fish.

Need to keep a look out for when they go to the toilet.
Want to rule internal parasites out.

Flicking and rubbing can mean bad water quality, toxins, overdose of meds, ph change, parasites, irratation.
Have you changed brands in your water declorinator.

no ive always used api dechlor, water stats are-
ammonia = 0
nitrite = 0
nitrate = 10 (was 20 until water change)
pH = 7.4
shouldnt be any toxins in there, no spraying of cleaning products goes on in the same room.
the only meds i have used are protozin ages ago, wormer plus and anti internal bacteria. wp once with aib and twice on its own within the last 4 months.

Ok.
Have a word with rabbut he was online earlier.
I would try and find a lfs which is willing to preform a skin scrape on a fish.
