This always got mine breeding. I mean they bred on their own but this got them breeding more readily. It's like paradise fish, fed mine frozen bloodworm last night and viola, They started laying in the nest he built. I now have lot's of eggs. Whoa, Sorry didn't mean to go off topic. Yeah guppies breed like rabbits once they start, you can't stop 'em.

Cheers,

Hmm, is your guppy very small, it might not be mature. Also, she might be getting fatter because you are overfeeding her. Are you overfeeding her? Also, you might hav emissed the guppies, although I have a newborn guppy in my tank that hasn't gotten eaten yet. Try feeding them freeze-dried brine shrimp, because that is known to get the fish in the mood to reproduce.

I know I'm not overfeeding her. I have alot of other fish and she usually seems to eat the least. But, that is nothing recent. She always stays by the filter, but that is nothing new either, since then time I got her that is what she is like. And I think she must be mature because she was the average adult guppy size when I got her and that I to at least be four months ago...

Ok, it's just that I watch them all very closely incase I see them breed or anything like that and I have never once seen them pay even the slightest bit of attention to her. The males are always all over my platys, more in the beginning than now but they still were. I went to Petco today to get more females and they had two left that had a sign saying "under observation, not available for sale." I was so sad!! :-( Oh well, I got 3 marbled mollies instead... ;)

Too bad ... I've got about 100 you could have!

What gender are the mollies? If you have female mollies, the male guppies may successfully breed with them. Mollies and guppies can breed. Swordtails and platies can breed. Guppies and Platies, no. Guppies and Swordtails, no. Mollies and Platies, no. Mollies and Swordtails, no.
Hope that made sense. I said that for future reference.

....I would LOVE that!! hahaha I want fry sooooooo bad and I guess I don't have the magic touch. But I won't stop! I have one little baby fry. He got scooped in when I bought some other guppies and has lived for 13 days now in my breeders net! Can't wait to see gender and color. He/she is still too small to put in the big tank though.

Ok, it did make sense. I would like to have the guppies and mollies breed, but if they do that will they still breed with each other? I would get muppies..

I'm not exactly sure of their gender. I am terrible at telling. Guppies are pretty much the only ones I can tell, haha. I try to look at their fins but I'm still unsure. One is way smaller than the other 2, if that matters with gender or is just an age difference. The refrence you gave is the one that makes the most sense and doest use words I have never heard of, I would like to have muppies, but if a guppy and molly breed, will the same guppy still breed with anouther guppy? and would the same molly breed with another molly, too? Or do they have "partners?"

If the molly has a "fan" shaped anal fin(the fin just behind it's rear end)then it is a female. If it is pointed, well you get the idea. Livebearers don't pair up, they breed with anything and everything that they can. If your mollies and guppies do breed and you manage to raise the hybrid fry(I hear raising the hybrid fry is harder than raising normal fry because they are more sensitive)then the adult results will probably be sterile. I don't know what will happen or not but my guess is that the "muppies" or "gollies" would be unable to have fry because of the genetics and stuff.
