I have three gourami in total , 1 male and 2 female. When the male first nested, the female (only 1 at the time) spawned the same day. Now i have two females in the tank, he continually upkeeps one nest and the feamles do not spawn. The current nest has been in there for two weeks now, but the females look more interested in each other than in him. Is this normal to have a nest this long?

You haven't stated which species, but going from your dp I'm going to go with dwarf gourami.

Meant to be pretty disease prone, but this guide says they are a good beginners choice.

Thanks for the link, it's very useful. My dwarf gourami is the one in the avatar picture. I am still unclear as to whether the continual nest for over two weeks is normal though.
