Hi there

Planted Valli in my tank a couple of months back. It gradually got worse and worse and eventually died off completely. Ive tried several different batches and still no success.

My Setup
330 Litres
3.5 x Turnover
No Ferts
No CO2
1.5 WPG
Sand Substrate

Thanks for any help

Vallis require moderate lighting and 1.4 wpg is on the low side. If the sand is silica sand (play sand etc) it won't be providing any nutrients for the vallis, coupled with not using any ferts it's not really surprising that they aren't doing that well. Can i suggest using a good quality fertiliser, like this:good:
Budget depending, adding a power head for some more circulation would be a bonus. LIke this.

Is the tank water hard or soft? Vallis isn't all that happy in soft water.

It's a little on the soft side, i've just ordered a 6000lph powerhead, and I have all the dry ferts ready to create my own, just not bothered in a while. £20 i paid for all my dry ingredients and that will make around 90-100 litres of plant fertiliser
