Why Do People Buy Fish And Do This? (pics)

Personally I think there isn't anything wrong with the look of the tank (not my personal choice for a look in a tank, but might blow someone's whistle). On the other hand, leedsboi86 is as entitled to an opinion as anyone else is, however untactful a manner that opinion may have been executed.

The main thing is that the owner of the tank is happy with it and there is no harm to the fish involved IMO. After all, the vast majority of us don't keep fish in an exact biotope of the enviroment they originated in, which would be the epitomy of benefit to a captive fish. So until we do then there isn't much point in poking fun at someone else's tank. That said, there is nothing wrong with forming a personal opinion either

i think this thread is pointless and taking the mick out of somebodys personal taste is just outrageous, and i cant actually believe that you have brought this onto the forum and are criticising her tank! I couldnt care less how people chose to decorate their tank, if they like it then its fine, and to not appreciate that is pretty immature. The fish probably (if not definately) couldnt care less whether they had a giant nemo at the back of their tank. The water look clean, the tank looks looked after, its fine, ok, she has overstocked it, but it is no where near to the extent which we on this forum have all seen before at some point. Speak to her yourself about it, bringing it onto this forum in the attempt to get a reaction really isnt helping the situation.

This isn't the point i was making, the point i was making is it is wrong to do this when this person isn't here to defend herself. Opinions are fine as long as the person in question is here to respond IMO

i agree :good: also as long as the person has posted it themselves and is looking for opinions

I didn't direct that specifically at you vix  It was an attempt to steer this thread from turning into an all out brawl (by placing emphasis that we didn't need a witchhunt directed at the tankowner nor members here) which will result in it being closed. Personally I agree that the manner in which the opinion was exercised was rather poor but on the same token I can see this thread being closed in due order on the course it is taking so was trying to get people to see it from the point of view that it is just an opinion (regardless of how right or wrong it may be) and post more in regards to the tank itself than how the opinion was carried out.

I have spoke to leedsboi in chat as have some others, nothing really to add just to say we have exchanged views

Yes, that is too bright for me. But everyone has different tastes, and who are you to judge someone else's fish tank and criticise it on another forum? I'm sure you wouldn't like it if someone did the same for you. You should keep thoughts like that to yourself, because I think that's quite judgmental. I wouldn't like to visit another fish forum and find some random person I didn't know posting pics of MY tank to thousands of others, saying how horrible it is. So I, personally, think you should keep thoughts like that to yourself.

It appears to me that this discussion is being carried over from something that was going on in another forum. Since the owner of the tank is not a member of TFF, I don't think it's fair to her to discuss it here.

Is there anyone here who would not be hurt by having their own tank ridiculed on another forum? I think not. I'm going to close this thread.
