Why Did My Bn Pleco Die?

could you tell me any possibilities on how my BN plec could have died. i woke up went to feed the fish to see him at the bottom of the tank looking really pale and he isnt breathing or moving so i think hes died

KH 240mg/litre
GH 180mg/litre

3 swordtails
3 neons
1 guppy
1 bristle nose pleco(there was 2)
5 cherry shrimp.

fed him on peas last night and cucumber the previous night.

How old was he? Size? Any noticeable change in behaviour?


IMO, the tank would be a bit on the small side for any Pleco really once mature sized but if he was young enough, that may not have been too much of an issue.

well i got him 2 weeks ago. and he is about 2 inches, he was behaving perfectly normal yesterday

Not really much to go on.
Did he look bloated or thin.
Being lethagic and listless.
What did it look like when he went to the toilet.

i must say he was perfectly healthy not bloated or lethargic. and his poo was normal. he was a little bit chubby but i think thats normal for a pleco right?

Hard to say then as being pale can be.
Stress.
Bad water quality.
Parasites.
Bacterial.
Just about anything really.

Its hard to say really what he died of with no symtoms apart from being pale.
I would just do a water change on our tank.
