Who's Getting Fish For Christmas.

Yeah, dried and soaked in lye and boiled into a white fluff- it's the traditional Christmas dish in Sweden where I spend my Christmases. Not going to try this on my guppies though.

no fish for me this Christmas.....aside from the presents I buy for myself

I got my early Christmas pressie from the BF who got me a motorbike helmet
as soon I will be the proud owner of a 2 wheel transportation device :D

My parents like to be more practical and buy me useful things  So this year I asked for a new cordless phone set that has 3 handsets. One for the actual base unit, one for the BFs study and one for my desk. It also has caller I.D. so I know when mum rings not to answer :p

Hopefully, Yes!!
Although I don't know if i can wait that long, might have to go and buy them myself.

:santa: might bring me some new lighting for the tank tho :D

I don't like getting any live presents - I feel an even greater responsibility to keep stuff alive then.
Not that it's a problem keeping fish "alive", but it's not nice to have to say "your gift died" :/

I know what you mean, although I'm not sure my level of "responsibility to keep stuff alive" would change, I'd be just trying to do the best i could (like most of us i suppose, or we wouldnt be on this forum) regardless of the source of the funding.
Having said that, fish do die, and my family know that (oh! Do they know that!!).

But I agree, I think having the lighting as a pressie, would probably be better than live fish (or money for them) You wouldnt have the problem then.

Sorry I did not express myself all to well :) Of course I won't look after fish any better if they were a gift or have a different feeling of responsibility. But I'd feel even worse about a fish's death if it was a gift :/ because then I'd have to say "your present died" or "I could do nothing to save your present".
Not nice

Hardware much better !!

How do you wrap a fish?? :fun:
with a liberal sprinkling of salt & vinigar in brown paper ! :fun:

Hmm, possibly. I might ask for an order from Trimar, although that depends entirely on what tank space I have. Consiering it's £10 delivery, I'm going to want to order things I can't get here, most of which need darned big tanks :X But I want a pair of honey gouramis, pygmy cories, badis badis, and I might ask for a betta :fun:
