I'd rate them as neat, but overrated.

Deffinitly not aggresive, probably abit when breeding, but thats territorial issues.

They make good dithers for more aggressive species which would eat the typical dither fish such as tiger barbs or rainbow fish. Big enough to not be eaten, dumb enough to keep getting beaten.

Oscars are fab fish... Full of personality. Keeping Oscars was one of my best fish keeping experiences

ah i love my oscars. each one has a different personality. and i personally think that they know my family and who is feeding them. They arent as aggresive as everyone thinks... they're aggrsive because they're always hungry haha. besides that, they're amazing. i'm at school right now and i cant wait to get back to them. only problem with them is that small fish will always be a no-no and they'll go after my fingers once in while.... lol oh well

Synirr, what size tank is he in? Do you keep your midas with him?

He's in an 80 gallon, and yes, the midas is in there too. She's actually a midas-bloodparrot hybrid though, and I think she's less agressive than a true midas would be. She still has a bad temper though; the only fish she tolerates is the oscar.

If I had a big spare tank I would consider trying one out one day, maybe..

I would also vote as liking them but not intending on buying one hehehe.

id love to have 1 .......or 2 one day but its not going to happen in the near future as my mom wont let me have that bigger tank to keep 2 oscars in.id love an albino 1 (white) and a normal black and orange 1.there great fish.

I have one. We have a love hate relationship. When he throws fits in the middle of night and flings water all over my room I hate him. Then morning comes around he does his sweet inoccent act wiggling around and giving me the puppy eyes, and I forget what a brat he is and I love him again.

Im not really a big fan of these bruts since i was little and my dads stupid hungry hungry oscar choaked to death in attept to eat my dads ausy arawana. I just think their to big and grupy, for me at least.
