There is a whiteish bump on my skirt tetras head. Anybody know what that is?

Can you desribe what it looks like? Ever heard of cotton wool disease? A build up of infection that causes fungus to grow on a injury.

More details would help.

Its not like something is growing on it, its just like a bump.

So the bump is white, does it resemble a cauliflower just to make sure.
Is it hard looking or soft like filled with fluid.
Any red edging or red in the centre of the white bump.
All you can do is add a bacterial med in isslation for now.

No red at all. Its white because the fish itself is grey so its just the skin color.

Now its like a reddish ring around the point where the bump starts.

Its bacterial then will get you some info.

The site down.
You will need to issolate and get going on a bacterial med.
Good luck.
Maracyn one and two, or maracyn plus.

No.
Melafix is only good on cuts and wounds, will do nothing for the fish what he has.
Good luck.

Then what do i use? Im in a bad position now. My dad hates fish so he wont buy anything for the fish that only cures ONE fish...he will say just let it die and get a new one... i also do not have isolation tank since my parents hate animals...what do i do?????

tell your father if the fish dies a part of you will die and you will go in deep depression, if he is at least a decent father he will get the meds.... Or an easier way is to buy it on your own.

Something really weird just happened. I checked on the tetra and apparently the bump turned back to the fish's color and it shrunk into a little ride like its going away. I didnt even put any meds into tank!
