there is white stuff on my platty
could be a fungi
what do i do

Is the white stuff fluffy, like cotton wool? If so, it could be fungus.If it's cubed like salt it could be ich (white spot). If it's on the edge of the fins and they look ragged it could be fin rot.

Don't use salt with oto's, they are salt intolerant! Med is much better, what are your water stats like ammonia, nitrate and nitrite? It does sound like fungus, and fungus is often brought on by water quality problems causing stress to the fish.

Sounds like body fungus... it's caused by a build up of waste in the water, so do a water change ASAP. Then treat with a specific anti-fungal med.

Hope your platy gets better soon.
