White Spots/growth On Tank

I have noticed some white growth on the sides of my tank. They are not moving and look like dots everywhere. Is this just algae growth and is it detrimental to my fish?

I've noticed growth on my heater as well

I have it on my heater I was told by people on here that it's a type of algae. I just remove it during water changes.
