Hi, this is the first outbreak I have had... Can anyone recommend a best treatment and doasge as well as any other anecdotes please....

Cheers...

So the clown looks like it's been sprinkled in salt.
Only had whitespot once in my tank and I use anti whitespot med by interpet.
Check the instructions carefully that you can use full dose with the fish you keep.
Turn temp up to 30, increase aeration in the tank as the med and high temp reduce 02 in the water.
Remove black carbon if you use it.
Good luck.

Hi, I had clown loaches in my new tank ( bad advice again from my lfs) I lost them unfrotunately due to lack of knowledge about white spot, never occurred tome that fish got ill.), but my remaining fish that caught white spot were treated with Parazoryne and I have to say that I only lost 1 x platy who had developed it quite badly, the other 7 survived and they all had spots. Check though that clowns as a scaleless fish can have this treatment, but it is very good I have also read alot about it on this forum and all who had used it would reccommend it.

I think I found it quite early, only 2 clowns have about 12 white spots on them, this has all happened after I put some new stock in

Have bought Waterlifes Protozin and have started treatment and raised temperature so fingers crossed!!

Thanks for the help

Oh, forgot to add - only on half dosage as per recommendations for loaches...

how many spots are there?

it could be ick which should be treated immediatly, you can buy Ick medicine at the local pet store,

I had white spot twice (Different Times after adding new fish) with my 3 clown loaches. I used King British whitespot med. I also slowly increased the temp up to 32 degrees, all Ich disappeared after about 2 weeks or so. I still have them 2 years later

i had white spot on my carbie piranha they were wild caught but i had a real tuff strain i tried to clear it up for about 3 months i used a couple of dirrerent meds but
Waterlifes Protozin seems to be the best but even that did not clear it up i ended up giving they away to a friend
