White On Bn Pleco Gill Spikes

I noticed two symmetrical dots about 2-2.5 mm in diameter on either side of my pleco on his gill spikes. Is this normal or is there something wrong? Please let me know if I should be worried and, if so; what should I do?

I cannot make out what it is, but no, it is not normal.

How strange. His other pectoral is the same?

Yes, it is exactly the same on the other side. I can't find anyone who knows what this is

I'm assuming they just appeared or you would have seen them before. They look like they are part of the fishes natural colouring.but I don't know much about plecs They spread out when the fish flexes its fins, and though the video isn't too clear it looks a bit like extensions on the fin.
