what ya think?

i think it will show his colours off a treat

I think white sand would look really cool, but not sure if marine sand ihas added extras compared to tropical...i don't use posh substrate so i'm a bit clueless, marbles is as exciting as it gets lol

Hi
I'll admit i'm not sure, but i know some "marine" style substrate has a salt content and may not be suitable?? What marine sand is it?

Hi
Well in that case I think it would look really good :good:

I have had aquatic sand in my bettas tank, and they like resting their lazy butts on it! Must be comfy :hyper: :hyper:

i have black sand in both tanks, but the girls r bright blues, pinks and whites, so they stand out

where as sobek is copper and blends in so im gonna get the white sand, it says its ok for both marine and freshwater :hyper:

Yep, I'm sure the white will make him stand out perfectly. We have a copper male and he has a pale coloured sand which shows him nicely :good: This is where he lives now, although when pic was taken he wasn't in there.

ooo cool, i wanted bright white for high impact, should i get a small coconut shell?

he has a barell to hide in?

throw loadsa ideas my ways guys pwease

also i have java moss balls arriving soon so he'll have one too :hyper:

Hi
The only thing I would say about a coconut shell is sand all the sticky out rough bits off. I dont know whether it was the shell but one of our HM's got shredded so I sand them down now.
What has made a big impact on that tank now is the adding of the floating plant "frogbit" (thanks Sharon). It has grown lovely roots that are like hairy and sort of make the bottom of the tank blend up through to the top. The males love building their nests under it too :good:

where can i buy some? my plants actually touch the surface so he can bubblenest around those

so coconut shell or his barrel?

If he likes his barrel then leave that in there :good: When your ready and changed his tank around gives us a pm and we may have enough to send you some. It's growing really well so give it a couple of weeks :)
