Hi,
Not sure if anyone can help but I'm new to this and any advice would be appreciated
I have been cycling a Fluval Roma 200 with a brackish setup of approx 1.003.
It is a fishless cycle in which I am adding ammonia, I have 2 Fluval M200 heaters and and external tetratec ex1200 filter.
My tank is in it's forth week of cycling and I have recently noticed a large amount of white flakes appearing in the tank that looks like dead skin / tissue paper, it even seems to be coming out of the tetratec filter, does anyone know what this is?
I have also noticed on one of my artificial live rocks a small amount of white fluff appear?!
Is there anyway I can eliminate this?
My water parameters are currently -
Ammonia - 0.25
Nitrite - 0.50
I'm a bit reluctant to do a water change during the cycle period and am still adding 22 drops of ammonia daily.
Also if I was to add fish when the tank has cycled and the flakes were still there would the fish be ok?
What if they ate any of the flakes?
