My tank finally cycled.

I added 9 Golden White Clouds. They are really neat looking in my tank - very active, very vibrant. But they don't really school much. It could be they are getting use to their new surroundings. Or it could be that I have to few.

How many white clouds do you need in a 29 gallon to better encourage schooling behavior? They are such neat fish, I would add more; but, if it doesn't improve their schooling, then I'll just stick to 9.

Schooling fish usually do not school unless they feel a need to. In an extremely large aquarium where they may feel insecure because of the amount of open space, or in a tank where they are being harassed by something, they will usually school. They are probably not schooling in your aquarium because they feel comfortable. Its not necessarily a bad thing. It is doubtful that adding more would make them school. I think nine is a nice number, and agree whiteclouds are beautiful!

Congrats on your new pets :).

for the most part yes, there are some species that school all the time but not many.

introducing a larger fish can cause them to school, depending on the room in your stocking if you can find soemthing relativley large but peaceful just the size of it could cause them to school. but i don't know how long this would last for or how much stress it would cause the fish? just heard of it done before when people wanted they're fish to school.

I don't have large enough fish to confirm or deny that, but probably anything small enough to fit into a 29 gallon aquarium wouldn't do the trick.
