Amonia and Nitrite = 0
Nitrate < 10ppm
gH = 130ppm
Temperature = 26 Deg C.
Everything keeps getting covered in a white fungus looking thing, it seems to grow in sheets if left undisturbed, the artificial plants look hairy and really disgusting, if I disturb the plants it can be found in large lumps that break away and are almost grey again it looks disgusting.
I am fastidious about keeping things reasonably clean, any food not eaten is vacuumed out within 12 hours, I do a 25% water change weekly and 50% full depth gravel vac at the same time, all replacement water is always treated with Tetra Aquasafe.
Tank is 50 gallon, filtration is 5 stage 1000lph with 11W UV (Aquael Uniax 700+), there is also a second circulation pump, no new additions of any description.
I am getting real tired of cleaning this crap out of and off everything, if it is disturbed it floats about and breaks into miriad hundreds of tiny pieces or drifts about as large ugly 'stringy' things and makes the water look filthy for hours.
I'll be setting the new tank up in 3 weeks and want to nuke this horrid stuff beforehand - I don't want this stuff in the new tank but I really don't want to mess about buying a new filter just to cycle the new tank in isolation.
I am cleaning this **** up every two to three days or it just plain looks disgusting.
