Anyone have any experience with these? Do they just hide all day? I'm thinking about getting two or three for my planted 55 gallon.

The more places they have to hide, the more they'll be out in the open. Their just like most loricards when it comes to this.

Alright. Just hope I actually get too see them! I'll make sure to create some hidey holes for them. Thank you!
Anything else I should know about them? I've done my research, but just wanted to talk to someone with experience.

Well... what species are you looking at? There are lots!

Check out wetspot, they usully have a couple differant types of whiptails and they will ship.

here is my whiptail, it never hides, i can always, always see it, right at the front of the tank.

Whiptail catfish are really cool, very lazy lol, I have one he used to hide a lot but since I've created more places to hide, he does come out now and again

Anyone have any other info? I found some at my LFS but they were called "Jumbo Whiptail catfish" I tried looking them up but cant find much info on them. I read that they are peaceful to fish, and dont even really eat fry. If thats true I'll grab one next time I go if they have any left

I just need to confirm if this is a type of catfish that doesn't look for fish to eat at night, unfortunately there are so many types and I dont have a picture I cant go ask Planetcatfish :/

Wow they look beautiful do you guys think i could keep one with a farowella acus? Would they have probelms?
