i have two tanks running but cant make my mind up which on to put a male fighter in,
*tank one 12"L x 8"W x 8"H
*tank two 26"L x 8"W x 6" H (i think this one more swimming space but is the depth ok?
also will i need to keep the fighter cover as i have heard different things?

thanks chris

A shorter tank is ok, it will actually save him some time getting to the surface to breathe. Length of a tank is more important to a betta than the height. Rough estimates shows the first tank is about 3 gallons and the 2nd is about 5 gallons. Your betta would appreciate the extra swimming room. A lid is a MUST! Not ALL bettas jump, but MOST do...so I wouldn't risk it :)

thanks for reply i have just double checked tank one and it is 15 x 9 x 9 so i have gone with this at the moment both are set up so if he looks unhappy i have choise to change him over. ill get pics up of him when i get the one im after.

thanks

That sounds like a perfect size tank for a betta :)
