im having a few problems with my existing tank and have been advised to purchase a water testing kit. Would the api master testing kit be suitable i saw them on ebay for around £25. Off to work now so will check posts later thanks for reading :)

well ive tried the hagen, tetra, interpet, esha, aquarium test kits
actually scrap that post ive just remembered another good test kit i had was a Salifert Profi Test Kit.

blimey, that's quite a lot, do you test on an hourly basis?

 when i got my first tank 6 yrs ago it came with a lot of different test kits.the only kits i have have gone out and purchased myself are the tetra, api and salifert.but yeah ive tried a few.

I've used a few of those and have stuck with salifert, they're far more accurate than API. If they did a more affordable multi kit rather than all the individual ones I would recommend that, else it can get quite expensive.

yeah the salifert is really good.api has never failed me and cheaper than salifert.its always good saving money in this hobby

Yep, hence why it's so often recommended. I agree it's the best cheapest one, I'll never agree it's the best!

no you are right its not the best.but out of all the test kits ive tried salifert has been the best for me.i just forgot i tried it earlier as ive used so many.the api test kit just came straight to my head. :good:

thanks guys good to have different opinions just orderd an api kit from e-bay £23.45 incl delivery (i couldnt find a freshwater salifert testing kit on there)so i will be pestering you in the near future for more advice on the finrot problems ive been having of late. Thanks again guys:)
