yus it is, and its the better one, imo as it gives a little open space and looks more natural.

The focal point (the nice bogwood with arch) is off centre in photo 1, wins hands down for me, photo 2 looks far too symmetrical.

Whichever setup i go for, i'm planning on creating a carpet effect with some dwarf hairgrass, creeping out of the arch (which is visible on both the setups) and spanning about 15 cm each side?
