Posted this one earlier in the hardware section, but without any response

I have a new 180 litre bowfront tank for which I would like to buy a canister filter. I am able to get the brands mentioned above here. Which one would you recommend to me? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each one? Which model should I take for which brand for the tank size I have?

Thanks!

Eheim Classic 2215. Cheap, simple, reliable, been on the market for years so it is a proven piece of kit. All the water goes through the media without any bypass, so you know when the filter is starting to become clogged and need cleaning. Eheim Classics are also very quiet.

I use a 2213.

I can't give you any comparisons, but i have a 180 litre tank and use the eheim 2026 Prof II.. Not the cheapest, but great. No problems with it, its quiet, maintenance is low, it's self priming (no sucking on tubes), and most important; the water quality and stats have been spot on, and the fish are happy.

I have heard more complaints about fluval than eheim, but many people also love them. They are the cheaper option, although the one that dave mentioned is a little cheaper too. Afraid i can't comment on the others.

i also have a 180 tank and use the 2026 pro2 great filter nice and simple to clean do yourself a favour and make sure it has the media with it as it cost about £30 for a set otherwise but a set will last a a good while. love it
