2venustus - Nimbochromis venustus, hap, carnivore, reaches around 10"

2 maingano - Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos, mbuna, omnivore, reaches around 4", like all Melanochromis these guys are pretty aggressive

2 cobolt blue - Metriaclima callainos, mbuna, herbivore, around 5", I kept 6 (2m/4f) of them in a 75gal, had some pretty nasty fights between males

1 aratus - Melanochromis auratus, mbuna, herbivore, around 5", IMO they shouldn't be in the trade as they are one the most aggressive available

1 red zebra - Metriaclima estherae, mbuna, herbivore, around 5", pretty much the same as the cobalts

1 hongi - Labidochromi sp. "Hongi", mbuna, herbivore, around 6", both males and females have high conspecific aggression

Hope that helps. :good:

Edit: Oops, forgot your mystery fish.
Looks to me like one of the Sciaenochromis fryeri variants, have a look at the link to see if you can match yours. Sciaenochromis

Pseudotropheus demasoni - mbuna, herbivore, around 3", have such high conspecific aggression should be kept in groups of 12+

Maylandia barlowi - mbuna, herbivore, around 5", extremely aggressive

Labidochromis textilis - mbuna, omnivore, around 3.5", very peaceful and shy, beautiful fish if you can source it

Copadichromis azureus - hap, carnivore, males 7.5", females 5", mildly aggressive

Copadichromis trewavasae - hap, carnivore, around 6", peaceful though mildly aggressive towards conspecifics

Maylandia zebra - maylanida zebra is a collective name commonly used for one of 3 species,
1. Metriaclima Callainos - mbuna, herbivore, around 5", I kept 6 (2m/4f) of them in a 75gal, had some pretty nasty fights between males
2. Metriaclima estherae, mbuna, herbivore, around 5", pretty much the same as the cobalts
3. Metriaclima zebra - mbuna, herbivore, 6", aggressive

Pseudotropheus saulosi - mbuna, herbivre, 4", for their size they are pretty feisty little fish.

Your welcome. My knowledge isn't all that amazing, when you research every fish before you buy it to see if it will work in your tank for several years you'd be surprised at what you pick up. That and having cichlid-forum profiles on my favorites menu. :hey: Besides, I'm obsessed with researching things, it's how I've always learned, something piques my interest and then I research it until I find out everything I can before moving to the next subject. Fortunately, IMO you can never learn it all with mbuna. :good:

thanks again last night iwent and got some bumblebee cichlidscan you please id and if so send me that forum link

Are all those fish in a 40 G tank? If so you are way overcrowded. The crabo will ned at leats a 75 gallon tank. Ther are very aggressive as adults. The haps will aslo grow too large for the tank. For a 40 Gallon tank I would stick with dwarf mbuna. basically anything that stay 4 inches and under as adults.
