Hi,

I would like to start a Gourami Breeding project and need some advice.

Firstly my water is quite hard with a high ph of about 7.8 (could come down to 7.5 with Co2 injection). Also I would like something quite small that could be kept in a community tank when not breeding. I have researched a few species but i'm still not 100% sure of which would be most suitable after reading that the dwarf Gourami is prone to some kind of virus?

Advice really appreciated.

Thanks :)

How about the honey gourami? They have a nice colour. They stay small ant thier good fishes to keep.

Thank you, I like the Honey Gourami quite alot, do you think I'd have much success in breeding them, given my water parametres.

Thanks again :good:

It should be fine their pH should 6.0 – 8.0.

To breed them you need to change the water temperature and a lowering of the water levels can help.
