I answered your girl/boy question in one of the other threads.

Your fish will die if you throw them into just tap water. There is chlorine in the water that will suffocated them. You need to get a de-chlorinator and dose the right amount for your tank. Platties need to be in water that is between 75 and 78° F to stay heathly, so you need a heater. You also need some fake plants (since you dont have lights) so they can hid when they are stressed or pregnant. Make sure you get some short plants, medium and tall so you can put them in different areas.

Come on people. Lets stop with the name calling and rudeness. It only makes people more agitated and less likely to listen to what you are saying.

Obviously he is though. Maybe not to everything. In another thread someone reccomended danios, but he decided on platties when told that danios aren't suited for a 10g.

He's asking tons of questions everywhere... in all the forums... I think it's great. More than I did when I started keeping fish. Better he's asking here than believing nonsence that the fish store will tell him.
