I have a 180litre tank, which I have had for the last 18 months or so.
Its got a couple of larger fish, which are currently small but will grow to be larger so I know the tank will need upgrading eventually (red tailed black shark, Golden nugget pleco) then have
2 tiger barbs and 10 ruby barbs and 10 zebra Danios.
I currently have a Teratec EX700 which when I first installed I was very happy with. I have noticed though over the last 6 months or so the flow has become very low. I recently changed the impeller and all the pipes and saw an big increase in the flow, but after 2 weeks was back to the low flow situation. it's not clearing a lot of the mess out of the bottom of the tank and my water just does not look clean, lots of little bits floating. I do keep up with the cleaning of the media and filters etc.
I have now decided I'm going to invest in one that will service this tank, but I will also be able to use when I get my larger tank.
I would be looking at getting least 300 litres for my next tank.
I have reviewed the Ehiem range and I have a friend who has one and never has an issue. I'm looking at the Professional 3e 450 or the Professional 3e 600T.
I'm wondering if the 600T would be ok for my current tank or if its just going to be overkill. I have heard so many time that you cant beat filtration but the max flow of 1850ltr hr I think may be too high. I have not idea on this, so any advise on the 2 above would be great.
