I'ved been loking at far too many planted tank journals and have convinced myslf to give plants a proper go.

So i'm looking at Co2 devices.. i can get the following at trade price through work..

the D&D system,

Hydors

Interpets

JBL set 1

Sander

Nutrafin

the first 5 using disposable presurised bottles.

the tank will be no bigger than a 2ft, I may end up using a 70w metal halide for lighting.

Thanks for your help.

Go with the nutrafin with the pinned recipe,i am sure others will agree

I agree withe Corin, i have used the nutrafin fermentation kits before but a full pressurised system is much better, although it will cost alot more to start with once set up correctly they are more effective and less work.

I have used the hydor system and i have to say it was a real pain, the tiny 74g bottles last a month at best and cost more than a 500g disposable bottle to replace. I'm now using a Aquamas system that is far better.

I can't really help with the other systems but i think the JBL systems are compatible with fire extinguishers (don't take my word for it), which seem to be the cheapest way to replace used canisters, as people are finding it difficult to find places to refill refillable co2 canisters.

I'm not worried about refilling as both of our supplier at work do it.

If your local shop uses either JnK or Norwoods they can get ur bottle refilled!

I think I might just get a cheap CO2 device for now, see how I go with planted. Dont want to blow lots of money then not like it!

Thanks for your help.
