Where To Buy...

during the summer there's loads of gorgeous ones on ebay, a breeder would probably be your best bet, although all mine are from my LFS

I dont have many LFS stores around my area, although i could easily travel.
Pets at Home is where all my fish are from, but the rarely have female betta's

thats about all i have too, my most local one (5min walk) usually only has VT's not that i mind VT's one bit, but recently got some other types in so now i have 2 DT's and a PK.

My advice, don't get the first betta you see as there's always one you won't be able to resist, hence i have 4 Males, 7 Females and 4 Wilds

 i don't know how you did, i want everyone i see :look:

also if your planning on having other tankmates (depending on tank size) i'd add them first so the Betta doesn't already have a territory built up :good:

oh  probably have more leway then  just make sure it is female as 2 of mine were males and lived together

Yeah i did read that about your males/females :)
ill continue my hunt, maybe at the weekend hehe

Where abouts in the UK are you?
If you're around Southampton, I can really recommend Titchfield Abbey Maidenhead Aquatics. Confusing to get into when you first go there but they have really well kept tanks, good advice and they had some beautiful bettas in recently, white super deltas with red flecks on the tail, but I couldn't get one :-(

Sunderland. So unfortunately I'm miles away :(

I tend to use pets at home, in either Sunderland or Washington, but be wary as some of the fish arnt the best. I have been lucky (apart from once when a molly infected my whole tank).
Fish Alive in Durham has a huge selection and I would certainly recommend them.

I'd certainly recommend Betta aquaria's female bettas. I have 2 from there; they are right at the back of the shop top shelf in the middle.

I've been to fish alive in Durham a few times and I'm not sure I'd like to buy anything from there (it was recommedned to us but we've never been thrilled with their stocking).

Tyne Valley Aquatics in Mickley/near Prudhoe are very good (you might want to call in advance and ask if they have females in) - they don't often but when they do they are very nice! I have 2 from there :).

Dobbies Garden Centre at Ponteland (near the airport) normally have females in.

The best place for a good selection is Peter Barrats(Gosforth) HOWEVER their stocking is usually not very healthy. Although I did give in and buy a pure white female a while ago.
