New juwel tank on its way, instead of adding the filter I already have in the tank I will be trf fish from, I want to just take out the sponge and place it directly into the Juwel internal filter, questions is, whereabouts should I put it?

Would it be best at the bottom where the water is drawn in from or the top where the water is them pumped back out from or somewhere in between?

Thanks hon, sounds good to me, as its only the two fish going into the tank, the mature sponge and the gunk should be enough to cope with them whilst the new sponges catch up right? Just doesnt make sense to run the two filters at the same time.

 no it does sound right, obviously using the sponge on the bottom would pass the water thru the already established sponge using up the amm, nitrI, before passing it thru the rest of the sponges, they in turn would catch up with the bacteria over the following weeks. I wasnt knocking ya, as if I would dare, it was your unsure answer that made me chuckle :D

sounds about rite 2 me hun i have my sponge from a previous tank then on top of that i have some floss then the original sponges that came with the juwel filter then some more floss the some bio balls and plastic rings then some more floss lol as u can imagine with floss running all way up the filter keeps the tank crystal :)
