Where Do You Keep Your Tanks?

I kept my first two tanks in my bedroom. I did not like this at all. As i hated the filter noise, the mess, and the smell when i was in my room or sleeping in my room.

Now i keep my large onen (125g) in my pool room. I think its a great place for a tank as everyone can see it because its where all my friends hang out and its not a problem trying to sleep.

47.5gal, 12.5gal, 3.5gal in bedroom

soon to be joined by an 80gal

I'm hoping to get a tank soon but the only place I have to put it is in the lounge. Having a 15 month old girl the TV is on most of the time. Basically what I'm asking is how well can fish do in a busy room? Has anyone else managed to keep fish in a busy room?

Yes, I keep my tank in the busiest or second busiest room in the house. Sometimes the Oscar gets mad when im playing pool because of all the movement and noise, but I haven't had any major problems due to the tanks location.

I have a 15g quarintine in my closet, a 20g ang 3g in my bedroom, and the 55 is down-stairs in my moms at home daycare. At the very most she has 9 kids somedays and thats when i say upstairs or else i get a headach. The fish seem completly oblivious to all the noise, even when kids are screaming their heads off.

Nine tanks in my bedroom including 2 inwall.
Three tanks in my bathroom.
Three- four tanks that float based on season between screened terrace and guest house.

My son's 7-gallon is in a corner of his bedroom, on his dresser. Out of direct sunlight and in a great spot for viewing. :)

Right now... I have a 29 gallon in my living room far away from any windows. The funny thing is, I watch that more than my TV now! I also have a 10 gallon cycling (almost done!) and a 5 gallon hospital tank in my bedroom. Having fish in the hospital tank made me realize how nice fish in the bedroom can be! They are very peaceful and relaxing to watch as you slip away...

Also... I hope you realize what you have done...

You made us all look around and find any last place we have in our houses for aquariums, and I know I'm already plotting.... :)

I have a 20 gal in the living room next to the window on a highboy. Only problem a little to tall to clean without a chair. A 10 gal in the boys room on a dresser and a 2.5 gal hex in my room on a shelf.

I have a seven gallon to the right my monitor on the computer desk (wedged in the corner of the room so the cats can't tip it over by accident), and then to the left of the desk there's a 20 gallon on a stand, and to the left of that is my TV. It's all on an interior wall becuase we don't have much insulation left in the outside of the house, and the outer walls are 15 colder than air temp in the winter. Neither tank is in direct sunlight, but they do get some natural light.

I practically live in my room, and when I have company we hang out in there. And don't forget to factor in seven curious kitties. The loaches don't even seem to notice anything in or out of the tank, and the bettas, well.... they're bettas. They don't like anything. The shrimp are the ones who get freaked out the most - any movement or vibration and they try to find a place to hide.

The only downside is the noise from the filters some nights. (The Tetra Whisper filters are almost completely silent!) I feed the snails fresh veggies, and I've woken up to the smell of boiled cabbage before.

The really nice thing is that it's across the hall from the bathroom, so it's a really easy trip to get and dump water.
