A week ago I introduced 4 ruby barbs into my 125l aquarium.  I had 3 largish red cherry shrimps and about 10 smaller ones.  Some of the shrimps are hiding under the built in heater but have stopped walking about the gravel and bogwood.  Could some have been eaten by the barbs?

Other tankmates are 2 x ottos, 1 x ancistrus, 4 black neon tetras, 3 blue neon tetras and 4 head and tail light tetras.

The aquatic centre said the shrimps whould be ok with the barbs.

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have put 20 + into my small tank and I maybe only see 5 at a time at most, have you tried looking in at night after the light is out? I find more are out and about in the dark.

My black ruby barbs would eat anything - I wouldn't bet against it being them

Equally they may just be hiding as mentioned above
