Hi guys, can you help with my problem which is my fish are disappearing,i recently (2 weeks ago) introduced new guppies 4 female and two males as per my local aquarium centre. Now i only have one male left.
I did have Platys,Danio's,Guppies, Loaches and Mollies, i only have Platys, Loaches and the one Guppy. Do you think the Platys are eating the other fish?.
I am stumped for an answer.

Anyone any ideas please

Ray

Can't see Platys eating the hole fish do you have any gravel in your tank?

Yes average about 5cm, i clean the tank and do a partial water change every Sat and haven't seen anything strange

No chance that fish are buried in the gravel? Fish tank got a lid cudn't have jumped out?

Long shot, but what kind of loaches do you have?

Welcome to our forum jamie20.
I am afraid we will need mo information on your tank to truly be helpful. Some things we need to know is how long the tank has been set up, what you are using for feeding, the actual size of your tank, what your water parameters are(if you are testing them). I am not saying that we are clairvoyant, but with enough information we may be able to give you real help. In the meantime be aware that a platy is not causing your present problems. Platies are almost never the cause of a fish death problem. I say almost never because they can carry diseases that will destroy a tank's population before they die of that same problem. In that case they would not look healthy though.

Tank size?
How did you "cycle" this tank, "fishless" or "fish-in"?
How big a percentage of tank water are you changing every Saturday?
Do you know what species of loach you have, or could you provide a photo?
Any sign of fish looking odd (with spots for example), or doing odd things (breathing rapidly, hanging just below water surface, quickly scratching against tank floor or ornaments)?

Fish will often treat dead tankmates as extra food.

Hi all, i have 2 Zebra loaches, i change approx 20% of the water with the fish in. have checked behind the filter as best has i can.
I have found another dead fish this morning.
All i have left is a approx 15 platys (some babies of various sizes) plus the 2 loaches.

again, was the filter cycled? sounds like they are just getting poisoned, dying and getting eaten, over and over.
