Hi, I'm new to this forum, and I have read 5teady's guide and many other posts involving pregant platies, but I can't seem to figure out when mine will give birth. She's had the white tube out for days and I can clearly see her gravid spot, but she's been eating and acting fairly normally. She's been pooping a LOT, almost constantly, and occasionally hiding. I think this is the third time I've thought she was going to have babies, so I put her in the breeder trap. I know I'm not supposed to be impatient, but everything she does besides eating sound like she'll have them any day now. The weirdest thing to me is that she seemed just a tiny bit squarer yesterday, but maybe it's my imagination.

Anyway, I figured pictures would help (sorry she's pooping). You might not be able to see them well in the pictures, but the white tube and gravid spot are both there and have been for at least two days. It's my first pregnant fish and I'm just worried I'll lose the fry to the black molly (or the corys, though I heard that was really rare) in the tank with her. Sorry that this post is all over the place, and any help is greatly appreciated. I just don't want to stress her out.

she is pregnant,I could give you a gess saying it will be a few days,But it could be in 5 min i would say soon just keep a close eye on her like i am on my guppy

She is pretty close, just keep an eye on her,her rear end may drop a bit more to appear square and she will go into hiding, saying that my blue platy kept going up and down the side of the tank when she was dropping!! :)

I think I'm going to give up on the breeder trap. There's really no way for me to be confident I'm right, so I just set up a little area with lots of fake plants the big fish can't get into and I'll let them fend for themselves. I remembered I had a bunch of fake plants lying around that I never used (because I prefer live ones), but I think they'll work for this. Thanks for the responses.
