One of my females popped fry this morning and I would like to know how long before they start developing an appetite?

I have seen some articles suggesting they don't eat for about 3 days because they are still using the egg sac energy? That seems a long time. I put some microworms in with them and they are not going for it at about 12 hours now.

I have some BBS on the way and will be ready for them in the morning. We'll see how they like those :)

Thanks

Fry will Usually start eating 24 hours after they are born . microworms & BBS are very good first foods for new born fry.

Thanks for the response. They are over 30 hours old now and eating well. Unfortunately though, the microworms float gently to the bottom and stay there as the little guys prefer to cruise near the top.

Anyways, they are eating well and have tried microworms, bbs and flake food all is good.

i have ever only fed my fry flake food into wee tiny peices i rubbed between my finger they done fine but ever sence i have had a floating plant (riccia) in my tank the fry seems to grow alot quicker i would advise it

After 48 hours I'm mixing up microworms, fresh BBS and flake -- I used a pestle and mortar and got a very fine powder.

It's quite cute watching the fry dart around after the bbs :)

I'd agree, guppy fry don't seem too fussy and will eat normal flake food, they'll nibble bits off larger chunks quite easily.
