Well, I guess if ya wanna classify techie nerds, I'm a backend java web applications developer and I manage several of our databases here at the office. Currently, I'm in the process of developing an internal content management system for our entire network of websites, in 12 countries and 15 languages. And, I proudly have 4 tanks on my desk with 8 little eyeballs staring at me at the moment.

So.... I guess that makes me a techie nerd that took up fishkeeping also, then. :dunno:

Just for future reference.... what happens if you're more than a geek but not quite a nerd? Are you a gerd or a neek??

Thanks Steve i'll do that.
the thing i'm not sure about is algae growth. i know Acnitic (no idea if spelt right) tubes promote algae growth so what about cold cathode tubes? is it the same wavelength or something different? i cant find the answer anywhere all the websights selling them dont go into detail about the type of light, i guess because there not designed for fish tanks :dunno:

any idea?

you rang....

:)

We have moon lights in 3 of our tanks and algae is not a problem - Algae uses the red spetrum so the blue wont cause a problem.
besides the are only used for a few hours... 30mins overlap and then a couple of hours after dark and before light :)

Drop me a line if you want a kit.
