Hiya,
I have a baby guppy, well it's not so much a baby now as it is probably about 3/4 of the size of the adults. However, it is still preety much transparent with no colouration, and its fin hasn't branched out yet into a flowing one.
I have a feeling that this may be a female one, just due to the fact it is very dull in colouration, however, how long does it normally take for them to show their colours? And if it is a male, would it be showing signs of what type of pattern/colour it would have?
Thanks, Amy.

yes i think your right, its prob a female, even poor colour males start showing colour before half grown. di

Mine are 2 weeks 4 days and they all have black tails and fins.

I'm not sure how old mine is as it was scooped up when I bought my adult guppies and my LFS said I could have it for free and see how it got on. It seems to be doing great, and after looking at the comments I would say it is a female as its mainly greyish/black where it does have some colour.
This may sound really stupid of me, but when it does reach adulthood is there a possibility of it being bullied because my other guppies as they are male and may want to breed with her?
Thanks, Amy.

I had a similour question last week about this very topic. My fry were born on feb 15th and still no cour showing. However they are still small I guess, they are not even half an inch but they are growing. I feed them crushed dried bloodworm and flakes mixed. I can't wait to see what all 7 look like when they are a few inch longer :)

i have 12 from the same parent and im dying to see what they look like because i bought them and they gave birth 6 days later so i dont know who the dad is. and i hope one is blue that will really bring out my tank lol
