Do I have to use live food, or can I use the brine shrimp that is frozen? Is there a difference. My bettas have both been eating the frozen brine shrimp everyday once a day and they love it and devour it. They seem very active now and my girl has gotten a big belly and then it got small again. So I'm assuming it is working correctly. He is active but has not mad a bubble nest yet. Anyways do you guys have any advice to give me. and I got a new filter for mt 10 gallon tank "the one they will be breeding in". It is a wisper filter and does make a little bit of movement in the water. I cannot afford a new filter so is there anyways that I can stop the clean water that is falling into the tank from making a lot of movement like a shield or something?

Floating plants will help reduce surface turbulence. You can use live plants if you have a light or plastic plants.

You can feed the fish on frozen foods to condition them for breeding. Brineshrimp doesn't have much in it and you are better off using raw prawn, fish, squid, etc. Mozzie larvae are good as well and can be grown in buckets of water under a tree in the backyard. Feed the fish several times a day and feed them variety.
