What's wrong with him?
117e6c2.jpg

His stomach has beenlooking a little sunken for about 3 days? I didn't really take much notice because I've been really busy with school :/ He was swimming around fine though, but as I'm looking now, he's just sitting at the bottom of the tank, his breathing looks really rapid, and his gills look a bit pinkish. Is there anything I can do to help him? My tank stats are fine, everythings at the level it should be. All my other fish look fine apart from a tetra that has a small growth on his tail, but he's swimming normally and everything.

Is this my fault, if I had noticed sooner would it've gotten to this severity? Can I help him somehow?

Please help x.x

I can't find anything that relates to his symptoms there, I might just not be looking in the right place though.

looks a bit like oxgen depletion or old age
or poisoning of some sort

look on google about curved spine this may be your problem

test ammonia nirites and nitrates

or injurie after being stuck or crashing into an object

I looked up the symptoms of oxygen depletion and that isn't it. The fish move around both the bottom, middle and top of the tank, they never just stay up the top, and I have my filter output thing so that it breaks the water. Old age.. I've had this fish since....September of last year? I looked up curved spine and I don't think it's that. I'll test the water again and post again.

Thanks for trying <3

Anyone else have any thoughts as to what could be wrong? I'm really worried D: He doesn't look like he'll last much longer unless I can help him a.s.a.p.

Does it have these symptoms?

Curved or Crooked Spine Skeletal deformity.
Lesions on the body.
loss of scales.
Loss of appetite.
Body wasting Progressive thinness.
Dis-coloration.
Sluggish movement
Folded fins
Eye protrusion
Dark coloration and granular appearance of the cornea.
Hanging at the surface
Skin defects, including blood spots and open wounds that may ulcerate
Black spots, or overall dark coloration

Is the spine bending.

Sunken in tummy can be fish tb, internal parasites, the fish is starving, not feeding enough, bacterial.

Check your fish for these signs.
Long stringy white poo, or clear mucas poo.
Worms prutruding from the anus.
Fish will look skinny or bloated.
Sunken in belly.
Bent spine.
Red inflamed anus, or enlarged anus.
Spitting food out.
Sometimes flicking and rubbing.
Fish swimming on it's side.
Fish not eating.

These are all symtoms of internal parasites.

The growth on the tail can you describe it in more detail.
The growth on tail does it look hard, or soft like filled with fluid.
is the growth smooth looking, or resemble a cauliflower.
Any redness to the growth.
is the growth beneath the skin, or on top.

I'm sad to say that the little guy didn't make the night, but I'm still going to answer these to make sure that none of my other fish will perish in the same way (hopefully in no other way but old age at all >w>)

Does it have these symptoms?

Curved or Crooked Spine Skeletal deformity. Nope, just the sunken in belly
Lesions on the body. Nope
loss of scales. Not that I can see
Loss of appetite. Yes, I tried to offer him food yesterday and he didn't take any, and like I said, because I've been busy with school, I didn't have the time to check if he was eating when I fed them because I had to get to school. (I feed them in the morning.)
Body wasting Progressive thinness. He does seem quite thin actually.
Dis-coloration. He had lost a bit of colour, not that he lost it, he just went slightly paler.
Sluggish movement He didn't really move much at all yesterday.
Folded fins No, from what I could see last night they were moving fine, he just couldn't move.
Eye protrusion Nope.
Dark coloration and granular appearance of the cornea. Nope.
Hanging at the surface Nope.
Skin defects, including blood spots and open wounds that may ulcerate Nope.
Black spots, or overall dark coloration Nope.

Long stringy white poo, or clear mucas poo. I have noticed for about the past weak or so, that it's mixed between clear and just normal.
Worms prutruding from the anus. Nope.
Fish will look skinny or bloated. Nope, the rest of the fish look fine apart from the one that died which was thin.
Sunken in belly. Only this certain one had a sunken in belly.
Bent spine. Nope.
Red inflamed anus, or enlarged anus. Not from what I can see.
Spitting food out. Nope.
Sometimes flicking and rubbing. Nope.
Fish swimming on it's side. Nope.
Fish not eating. The one that died wasn't for the last day or so (read from what I said in Tortea's question.)

These are all symtoms of internal parasites. How do fish normally get internal parasites? Will I be able to help my fish?

The growth on the tail can you describe it in more detail. Erm, it's quite hard to describe, it kinda looks like a growth, but then the 'growths' are on both sides of the tail.
The growth on tail does it look hard, or soft like filled with fluid. It looks quite hard.
is the growth smooth looking, or resemble a cauliflower. More like a cauliflower.
Any redness to the growth. None at all, it's just a mixture of a dark grey a light grey and white.
is the growth beneath the skin, or on top. Uhm, I -think- it's beneath.I'll try and get a picture for you.

We're going out today, so hopefully if I get the answer to what's wrong soonish, I can make sure we stop by my LFS and get the treatment.

Thank you all so much for your help <3

Growth beneath the skin that are hard can be tumours.
Cauliflower growths can be lymthocystis.

Check all your fish when they go to the toilet. Keep a look out for the rest of the internal parasite signs.
Clear poo can be the fish isn't eating and running on empty, internal parasites, bacterial infection.

Bless Him.
R.I.P.

Preform a few water changes over the next few days.

Is there any way to help the tetra?
What exactly is lymthocystis?

Alright, observing and water change. Got it. So should I post back in a couple of days with what I've seen?
