20-gallon overfiltered tank, fully-cycled, all readings are a-ok.

I've been taking care of my girlfriend's Betta (who's been in a sidecar for a month in the tank due to lack of suitable home). He displayed a potential flare up of Ich again, so I decided to medicate for a few days.

On the second day of medication (may be unrelated) one of my male guppies began looking quite odd. He's swimming, but not rising off the bottom of the tank. Also, his belly is incredibly distended (he was always a skinny guppy, not a chubby one). Otherwise, he seems okay - may be missing one scale as there's a small red spot on the side of his stomach.

I'm actually shocked he made it through the night and seems no worse today. It's clearly not dropsy as his scales look the same as always. What could it be though?

How skinny is the guppy, does he eat alot.

Guppy was always less of an eater than the others (never showed any interest in blood worms for example), but he always seemed to eat enough considering he's been healthy and hale for six months)

As to the Betta having access: The Betta is in a breeder trap, and thus cannot get to the other fish in the tank.

He has a bacterial infection can you issolate him for threatment.
Maracyn one and two, or maracyn plus.
Check what colour his poo is when he goes to the toilet.
Shouldn't be skinny if he's still eating healthy.

Don't panic just take a look with him being skinny, red spot, and a scale falling off.
Though he could of knocked the scale off.

Sorry, you might have missed at the start of the post, but while he's always been a skinny fish, he's suddenly become incredibly fat. That, along with not swimming above the floor of the tank, seems the primary symptom here.

I would still treat it as bacterial though.
