Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Does he look bloated.
Can he maintain balance in the water.
What do you feed the fish?

i dunno about gallons or litres but its 3ft long 1ft wide 1ft high (whats that in gallons??)

1 swordtail
2 neon tatras
2 cherry barbs
2 dwarf gourami
1 glowlight tetra
7 balloon red eye tetras
1 silver dollar
1 pleco
1 red tail black shark
2 chinese algae eaters
about 8 corydoras

i got odd number's of fish couse 4 rosy barbs were nipping my fishes tails and fins and killing them i've lost 10+ fish in about 2 weeks or so the rosy barbs are in breeding traps now

and it may be to late for the catfish he looks dead now :(

i've never ever took water stats and we have had fish for years :/

he was like froze stright wouldnt move and just would randomly swim then flot :/

i feed them all on fish flakes and algae wafers

Measure your tank with a tape measure, and then use the aquarium calculator at the top of the forum.

Take a sample of your water to the lfs and ask them to write the readings down for you.
Invest in some liquid test kits of your own.

Water change for now.

Research fish before you buy, for tank size, adult size, compatability.

Your tanks overstocked.
Immediate water change.
I would rehome some fish i'm afraid.

Red tailed shark.
Chinese algae eater.
Silver dollar.
Cherry barbs.

What type of pleco do you have?

really??

there looks like there's nothing in my tank now after all the other fish died and fish are still dieing now couse tha got hardly any tails left im going to lose the 2 neons 2/3 ballon red eye tetras

its a common pleco i think

I agree with wilders you tank is way overstocked. The neons and barbs need to be in groups of 4+. Common plecs can get to 2 foot long so need to be rehomed they also make huge amounts of waste which wont be doing your water quality any good.

well got up this morning to a dead red tail shark,, neon tetra & balloon red eye tatra & my glowlight tetra may be gone soon aswell :(

WHATS GOING ON AHH :shout: :shout: :shout: :shout:

should i do a water change ??

please helpp

i dont want to lose anymore fish :(

Yes, do a water change! Right now! And do another one tomorrow, and the day after that.

That should always be the first thing you do if you have dead fish.
Get your water tested and re-home some of those fish...

Sorry, but that's the only way of saving any. Your tank may look empty to you, but you are overstocked.

All you can do is water changes I'm afraid, and rehome some fish.
Until you sort your stocking out the fish will keep dying of bad water quality.
Do your own research for tank size, adult size, stocking, compatibility.

ok i just used the calculator again and used inches (last time i done feet and mixed it up)

my tank is 28 US Gallons

doesn't make a difference, you are still overstocked.

Yes, sorry, Daniel, I agree; you're still overstocked. That common plec has to go for a start; they are very messy fish and it will be producing a huge amount of waste, even if it's only small at the moment.

Your only hope of saving any of your fish is water change, water change, water change. And then do it again...
