I got a male betta on sat and he has been in his own tank since then but always stays in one place. The only time his comes out is about twice a day when he just swims round once and then goes back again.
He's in his own 15 litre baby biorb with a heater, filter and plants.
The stats are:
PH- 8.0
Amonia- 0
No2- 0.1
No3- 5
Temp- 80
He hasn't eaten since he's been in there and last night I managed to drop a bit of food right above his mouth and he just ignored it.
Also he's not pooping.
What can I do for him?

Sometimes it takes a few days for the fish to settle down and eat in his new home. When I get a new fish I always offer him a pea so it can clean out his system. It has took one of mine nearly 2 weeks before he ate anything.

took mine 2 weeks too, the other ate straight away, there all different it takes some longer to adjust to there new home and feeding routines etc

I wouldn't worry, bettas can go for quite some time without food and be alright. To get shy fish to come out more i hang out around the tank a bit so they become comfortable with people being around. Maybe try moving the bowl somewhere where there is a lot of foot traffic through your house if possible, if it isn't already. Its definately not uncommon for some bettas to take awhile to warm up to their new home.

they also dont like water movement, try turning down the filter to almost off.

You can't turn the filter down on a biorb coz it's just the bubbles and he seems to like it at the top of the water where there is slight movement.
I've put a background round half the biorb and that seemed to please him. Hopefully he'll feel at home quicker.

Don't worry too much Buttercup, he is probably still settling in. As you probably know, you need to bring the nitrite down to 0 but a water change or two should sort that out.
Have you got any plants or decor in the tank? I found my boys were a lot happier when I added some rock and plants as it gave them somewhere to hide.

He's probably not used to having so much space and a little freaked out. Both of mine took about 3 days to settle in. Even still, one of them is so lazy he spends most of his time sleeping. Let us know how things go.

like everyone said hes probably just taking his time settling in, a little patience and he will be fine,
sometimes i look at my betta tank and it a[[ears empty the rest of the time he wont stay still and swims everywhere
he'll come out of himself soon i'm sure

xXx
